Firstly, the first impression is essential. A picture is worth a thousand words, or so some have said. Looking at your photo the person takes less than a few seconds to decide if they want to chat with your or not. Will they scroll further? Lots depends on which image you choose as your main eye catching photo. Let it be a close-up portrait, natural light works best. Select a picture that will appeal to the type of people you are looking for. Remember this is a once in a lifetime opportunity for the person seeing your photo, your first impression. It’s not bad if you upload multiple images, in fact if you have multiple pictures of yourself doing some of your favorite activities that further illustrates your interests and may entice that special someone to touch base with you.
Take the time and tell your story, what you love and what is important to you. Your profile is akin to your personal resume, your personal life. Think about what to include and what not to include, at least in the beginning. Roughly describe what inspires you, maybe talk a little about your life experiences and your favorite activities. Specify the type of Canadian woman or man you search for.
If you are a wing it kind or if you like to joke, wing or make jokes. If you’re not, don’t do those things. Be yourself. If someone does not understand you, they will not understand you or laugh at your jokes. Wasting your time and theirs. Do not say anything that you cannot explain later. For example, don’t lie about your height, weight, or exaggerate your accomplishments. Your partner can see your body type from photos and your weight and height when you meet in person. Don’t sell yourself short, but be honest!
